This one hurts. On a beautiful February afternoon, the fans brought it outside for the tailgate, and brought it inside for the start of the game. EBA was loud to start the night.

Sadly, that energy did not translate on to the court. VCU led from start to finish tonight, with their usual lacking offense not showing up tonight. The Rams shot 55% from the field tonight, and 45% from three. They were led by Ace Baldwin and Vince Williams Jr, who each put up 18 points.

Mason was led by Josh Oduro with 18 himself and followed by Ticket Gaines with 16. Mason was once again hurt by poor bench production and free throw shooting. Mason only got two points from the bench (a nice layup by Otis Frazier III) and shot 74% from the line.

The Patriots also didn’t get their normal three point shooting tonight. Mason hit only 33% of their threes today, with 4 of them coming from Devon Cooper.

Mason will look to bounce back Wednesday night in Philly, as they head to the Michael J Hagan Arena to battle St Joe’s for the second time this season.
