Sophmore Nicole Cardaño-Hillary scored a game-high 29 points, in a night where she scored her 1,000th career point, but the George Mason (11-9, 3-4) came up just a bit short, falling to Saint Louis (9-12, 3-4) 60-53 on the road.
The game was very even throughout the first three quarters, and it took just 5:21 of game time for Cardaño-Hillary to score her 1,000th point.
The 3⃣ that put @nikkich_14 into the 1,000 point club!
She currently ranks 18th on Mason's all-time list with 1,003 points.#GetPatriotic pic.twitter.com/PtujLH2ofA

George Mason closed the first half on an 8-0 run, and took a 28-24 lead into halftime. The second half would be one of flip-flopping runs, as both teams took turns catching fire.
Saint Louis would respond in the third, and ended the quarter on a 9-0 run of their own, to take a nine-point lead heading into the fourth. As the game headed down the stretch, the Billikens were just able to make some plays, get stops, and do just enough to get the win. Mason shot just 37% from the field, to SLU’s 45%, though the Patriots did commit 16 turnovers.
Jordyn Frantz lead Saint Louis with 17 points and 5 rebounds, while Ciaja Harbison had 16 points and 6 assists.
This loss snaps George Mason’s three-game winning streak, as the Patriots now drop into a three-way tie for 8th place in the Atlantic 10 at 3-4, along with UMass and St. Bonaventure. The Patriots will continue their road trip on Super Bowl Sunday when they travel to Olean to face St. Bonaventure at 1PM on ESPN+. We’ll see y’all then.
