Well I was wrong.

Anyway.

George Mason takes on VCU on Tuesday.

See you then.

Just kidding…

On Saturday, George Mason (16-13, 10-6) took on Saint Louis (18-11, 9-7),  in a matchup similar to the Patriots’ game against Kansas State.

Another game in which Mason was down by a considerable amount, started to make a comeback in the last 4 minutes, only to be stopped and lose.

It was a rough first half.

In the first half, Mason only scored 24 points going 7-29 from the floor, 3-7 from behind the arc, recording 21 rebounds and 8 turnovers. The Patriots only scored 8 points in the paint, and 6 points off of SLU’s 12 turnovers.

The Billikens dominated scoring 40 points, going 16-35 from the floor, 6-14 from three, recording 22 rebounds, and 13 assists.  SLU also recorded 20 points in the paint and 15 points off Patriots’ turnovers.

In the second half, SLU dropped 41 points, going 14-31 from the field, 2-9 from behind the arc, recorded 21 rebounds, 20 points in the paint, and 10 points off Mason turnovers.

Mason, while they did score 47 points, they closed the gap around the 2:30 mark, but failed to finish the job by scoring too little too late. You can’t try to surmount a comeback in the final three minutes of a game.

GEORGE MASON LOSES 81-71 TO SLU

Some things from this one:

Layups. Mason only converted on 11 of their 26 layups. C’mon. You’re never going to win games scoring on 42% on your layups.

Jordan Miller and Jamal Hartwell II led in this game each scoring 15 points. Not much to say there.

From one Patriot to another:

There are two games left in the schedule; VCU on Tuesday and @GW next Saturday. Be sure to check the seeding status of the team through @thetylerbryum on twitter.

This was probably DP after this loss.

Anyways.

George Mason takes on VCU on Tuesday.

See you then.

(This is actually the end of the recap)
