George Mason hosted NC Central last night in their second home game of the Emerald Coast Classic.

After a rough first half, the Patriots finished strong for their first double digit win of the season.

Jarred Reuter lead the way with a standout perfomance scoring on a couple these:

In the first half, the Eagles scored 32 points, going 14-23 on FG’s, 2-6 on three’s, and recorded 13 total rebounds.

Mason recorded 29 points, going 11-24 on FG’s, 2-11 on three’s, and recorded 9 total rebounds.

I saw promise in the team last night during my halftime thoughts, however, people thought otherwise.

Nonetheless, the Patriots performed better in the second half.

In the second half, the Patriots scored 49 points, going 15-27 on FG’s, 5-12 on three’s, 17 rebounds, and only one turnover the entire second half. More. Of. This.

The Eagles scored 31 points, going 9-22 on FG’s, 1-6 on three’s, 7 turnovers, and 13 rebounds.

GEORGE MASON WINS AGAINST NC CENTRAL 78-63

Some notable things from this game:

Jarred Reuter had one of the best night’s of his career, scoring 24 points, going 10-13 from the field, with zero turnovers. Hopefully he can continue this kind of performance in the next couple games against these Power Five foes.

Justin Kier (Mr. Consistent) scored 12 points and recorded two assists in his 29 minutes of play. He went 2-5 from three and 100% on FTs (2-2).

Ian Boyd brought some great energy tonight, recording 11 points, going 4-8 from the field,  and grabbing five rebounds.

AJ Wilson only played nine minutes in this game after debuting a new mask.  It seemed like he took a shot to the face at one point, but hopefully, he’s ok and gets back in his groove soon to play more.

Otis Livingston II registered zero points for the first time in his collegiate career, but Dave Paulsen said that he contributed in other ways than scoring. He had 7 assists in 23 minutes.

There was some great passing in this game as the Patriots recorded 18 assists, it’s always great to see that.

If you haven’t checked out the Post-Game from Bryan, check it out here.

There’s a tough road ahead. Mason will have to bring their “A” game to have a chance against Cincinnati and Baylor/Ole Miss.

See you then.
