2024 prospect Bryson Cokley has committed to playing for Tony Skinn and your George Mason Patriots. Cokley is a 6’6 wing out of Arden, NC who is attending Christ School in Asheville.

The newest Patriot is committing after his official visit last weekend.
Cokley got his offer from George Mason last week and was on campus this weekend for an official visit.
The 6’5 G out of @greeniesports is a former Wake Forest commit, and has recently received offers from St Louis, Tulane & Wyoming.

Bryson committed to Wake Forest in October of 2022. Wake Forest thought he was a caliber of player that could go up against the likes of Duke, UNC, and UVA.

This summer, Cokley decommited from Wake Forest and opened his recruitment back up.

The former Wake Forest commit had offers from Mason, San Diego, Georgia State, Appalachian State, Northern Illinois, Tulane, Wyoming, and Saint Louis. On top of that, he had taken official visits to Wyoming and A10 foe Saint Louis, two quality mid-majors.
According to Phenom Hoops, a scouting organization that primarily focuses on the Carolinas, the newest Mason commit is the 20th ranked player in North Carolina.
Cokley is not ranked on 247, likely because he was committed to Wake Forest during the period where he would have been rated, but is a three-star on both On3 and Rivals.
According to MaxPreps, the former ACC commit averaged 9.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game on 46% from the field and 38% from three during his junior season for Christ School. Through his first three games of his senior season, he is averaging 8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game on 59% from the field and 50% from three. That’s efficient, especially for a guy who creates his own shot a decent amount.
After watching some of Bryson, he is at least an A10 level athlete, possibly a plus athlete as this level, but he is not a freak. The 6’6 wing has a very nice jump shot; the release is pretty high and quick. His athleticism and jump shot enable him to score at all three levels. He moves well off-ball and when the flip is switched, can be a great on-ball defender. I believe there’s some secondary playmaker upside in there too.
The staff is clearly very excited for what Bryson Cokley is and could be, as they chose to have him in 2024 over the transfer portal mystery box.
