William & Mary enters today coming off their first win of the young season, defeating Navy 60-51 in Williamsburg. Redshirt-Junior Sydney Wagner led the Tribe with 23 points, going 8/10 from the field, including canning five threes. W&M’s other two games this season have been loses to Old Dominion 70-47 and Richmond 72-55. In addition, William & Mary had a game against Radford also canceled this season.
The Tribe are coming off their best season in program history, breaking school records in total wins (21), conference wins (12) and road wins (11). They also finished 3rd place in the CAA, also a program best. W&M seemed poised for their first WNIT birth before the COVID shutdown cut the season short. This year, William & Mary was predicted to finish in 8th place in the CAA. They will be down two scholarship players this season, Libby Underwood and Eva Hodgson, both of whom opted out of this season due to COVID concerns.
George Mason enters today, as I mentioned, coming off a bit of a long layoff. In their last game, Mason ran into James Madison’s offensive buzz-saw in the first half, falling on the road.

Devyn Wilson had a career day, shattering her old career-high in points with 15 points, along with 5 rebounds. The Patriots did manage to get four scorers into double-figures once again, highlighting Mason’s versatility offensively. Jazmyn Doster struggled mightily though, fouling out with just two points in 17 minutes played. She was big in Mason’s two wins over Navy and Longwood, and you know she’s itching to get going again.
The extra caveat to this game is the weather forecast- as of the writing of this article on Tuesday, the forecast calls for between 1-5 inches of snow to fall in Fairfax throughout the day and into the evening.
