In their regular season finale, George Mason (9-19, 3-12) welcomes in La Salle (12-16, 6-9) on Senior Day. The Patriots are set to honor Seniors Jacy Bolton, Sarah Kaminski, Alexsis Grate and Allie McCool.

Each of these four players have left their marks on this program, whether on the court, off the court or in the classroom.

Fourth Estate wrote four beautiful articles on each of the four seniors, which I’ve linked, but here’s some highlights:

Jacy Bolton: “Over her four years at Mason, the Missouri native currently sits 18th in points (1107), 9th in three-pointers (134), 8th in rebounds (722), 16th in assists (238), T-12th in steals (159) and 7th in blocks (71). She is the only player ever in Mason women’s basketball history to be in the top 20 in points and top 10 in three-pointers and blocks.”

Sarah Kaminski: “Kaminski currently sits in third place on the all-time in made three-pointers, a feat she acknowledged in passing, focusing instead on what legacy she will leave off the court.”

Alexsis Grate: “Grate hopes to be remembered by how she does things that may fly under the radar. “My hustle plays, playing good defense and [being] relentless,” she said. “I just hope people remember me for the little things that I did. I didn’t really have a big role as much on the offensive side, but I think that my defense was pretty good over the last couple of years.””

Allie McCool: “Milleson raved about McCool’s performance on and off the court. “She’s just a really, really caring person,” Milleson told Fourth Estate in an interview…McCool also channeled her love of helping people into her academics. She graduated from Mason with a bachelor’s degree in integrative studies with a concentration in early childhood education in May 2019. Currently, she is set to graduate with a master’s degree in special education this December.”

Be sure to get to EBA early to honor these four amazing women.

Scouting La Salle

These two teams met in Philadelphia exactly 30 days ago, a game in which the Explorers emerged victorious, 77-65.

First and foremost, Mason needs to focus on containing Claire Jacobs. She exploded for 29 points, including knocking down four threes and going 7/8 from the line.

Secondly, to win today, George Mason is going to need to shoot better than 28% from the field. Also not digging a hole time and time again would certainly help too.

Breaking Down George Mason

This season has absolutely flown by. It’s hard to believe that we’re already at the regular season finale. I think we would all agree that this year hasn’t quite gone the way we’d hoped, but there’s still a lot to play for.

Nicole Cardaño-Hillary sits just 21 points away from being George Mason’s all-time leading scorer- and she’s still just a Junior.

Jacy Bolton is eighth all-time on Mason’s rebounding list at 725 rebounds. She needs just three more to move into seventh place.

Sarah Kaminski already holds the program record for most career games played at 121.

Jacy Bolton is already the record-holder for most games started at 119.

In addition, a win today ensures that the Patriots do not finish in last place in the Atlantic 10 standings. Hey, it’s something.

Tipoff from EBA is set for 2:00, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

See you there.
