Two 2026 Prospects Visit Mason

Your George Mason Patriots brought in two prospects for official visits from September 5th-7th, in Shane Pendergrass and Peyton Miller, with both being in the class of 2026.

Shane Pendergrass

Shane Pendergrass is a 6’8 wing/forward out of Maryland who was originally in the class of 2025 but reclassified to 2026.

The Mason visitor is a true four star, with 247’s base ranking system having him at a 90, a four star, and 247 Composite having him at .9576, a four-star, and being ranked 112th in the country. Pendergrass would be the second highest rated recruit to go to Mason, between Erik Copes and Emmanuel Kanga, although he is much closer to Copes than Kanga.

Skinn and the staff have made Shane’s top six, alongside Louisiana Tech, La Salle, Duquesne, Cal, and Boise State. Some A10 competition here.

Pendergrass attended Mount Zion in Maryland but transferred to Hargrave Military Academy, which is in southern Virginia, before his junior year.

I believe that Shane and Emmanuel Kanga had one or two seasons of overlap, but I could be wrong, as I could not find any Mount Zion rosters from Kanga’s junior and Pendergrass’ sophomore season.

Mason has been on the four-star for a very long time, with him having an unofficial visit from June of 2024.

Pendergrass is a do-it-all four, and seems like he would be very lineup versatile, with it appearing as though the 6’8 four-star could be on the good side of tweener with the forward and wing positions.

This is the type of guy who could have an impact as a freshman, which is becoming more of a big deal with movement in the portal being so prevalent.

Peyton Miller

Peyton Miller is a 6’3 guard out of New Jersey, who is unranked but that should not be an indictment on his game. The New Jersey native is playing Western Reserve Academy in Ohio this season.

Miller plays with Overtime Elite in Atlanta and City Rocks, which is an upstate NY grassroots program. It also seems like he recently signed with Rod Wave Elite.

Peyton has official visits with Mason, Rhode Island, and Maryland, which is an interesting set of three. Two A10, two DMV.

The 6’3 guard is a bucket getter with a good first step, along with great body control and a pull-up game. He really stuffed the stat sheet this past season, averaging 19.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.6 steals per RichFlanagan33 on Twitter/X.
