With summer upon us, Mason will have potential players visiting throughout the season. The list of visitors is below and will be updated as they visit.
Ty Bevins
Ty Bevins, a 6’5 guard in the class of 2024, is officially visiting Mason on Wednesday, June 21st.

The 2024 guard is currently attending Gwynn Park High School, the same high school his primary recruiter, Louis Hinnant, attended.
Bevins is a 247 Composite 3-star, ranked 141st in his class nationally.
The Gwynn Park attendee has offers from Mason, Georgetown, NJIT, College of Charleston, Temple, UMBC, Towson, American, George Washington, Drexel, and Hofstra. Kim English’s Mason team was his first D1 offer. Coach Skinn re-offered him a scholarship in April.

Ty has a great jump-shot, with the ability to hit shots from the college three-point line already. With him being 6’5, he has great size for the A10 and would be able to use his size and length to guard multiple positions.
Martin Somerville
Martin Somerville, a 6’2 2024 guard out of Bishop McNamara, a school in Forestville, Maryland, visited Mason on Saturday, July 1st.

The Maryland native has offers from Mason, NJIT, Mount St. Mary’s, Holy Cross, Albany, Loyola Maryland, Bucknell, William & Mary, UNC Greensboro, Saint Louis, Brown, San Jose State, Dartmouth, UMass Lowell, and South Alabama.
Somerville can finish around the rim in traffic and hit shots from both the mid-range and three off the dribble, giving him potential to be a three-level scorer and shot creator. He is able to find the open man when he has a defender helping off of his man, but will likely enter college as a secondary ball-handler with the chance to develop into a point guard.
