Sweep The Rams: Mason Completes Season Sweep of Rhode Island, Overcomes slow start to win 75-67

That one felt good folks. Your George Mason Patriots took down the Rams of Rhode Island is a relatively dominating performance this afternoon.

Mason started slow, but after taking the lead around the five minute mark of the first half, they did not let it go. Mason was led in scoring by, who else, Josh Oduro. Oduro had an incredibly efficient game, going 12-14 from the field, ending with 27 points and six boards. Ticket Gaines, who looked fantastic in his first home game back from injury, added 15 points and nine rebounds in his own right, along with his usual lockdown defense. Ronald Polite added 15 points in his own right, along with nine assists.

Saquan Singleton should also be mentioned. It didn’t show up in points, but Saquan’s energy, defense and four assists were crucial in Mason findings their rhythm and taking control of this game.

Rhode Island was led by Jalen Carey with 21 points. Mason was able to shut down Rams leading man Ish Leggett, holding the usual 17 PPG scorer was held to only nine points on 2-11 shooting by the Mason defense.

Mason is back in action for the second half of the revolutionary rivalry, with a revenge match against GW in DC Wednesday at 7PM. Let’s get some Mason fans there, and Go Green and Gold!
