On Saturday, George Mason (16-15 5-13) took on Fordham (8-22, 2-16) in the final regular season game.
In the first half, Mason outscored Fordham 33-30 going 12-27 from the field, 7-14 from behind the arc, and recorded 16 rebounds. Both squads battled back and forth, but Mason managed to come out with a lead going into halftime.
Fordham had a decent half as well going 11-25 from the field, 4-9 from behind the arc, and recorded 15 rebounds. However, the Rams’ defense was weak at times, allowing easy cuts to the basket and open players on the 3-point line.
In the second half, the Patriots scored 32 points going 8-20 for FGs, shooting 40 percent, and going 3-9 from three. Additionally, Mason recorded 19 rebounds and 5 turnovers.
The Rams kept up with the Patriots throughout this entire half until the end. They went 10-27 from the field, 3-12 from behind the arc, recording 31 points. Fordham also registered 15 rebounds and only 3 turnovers.
GEORGE MASON WINS 65-61 OVER FORDHAM
A couple things from this one:
Mason won this game from behind the arc. The Patriots hit 10 three-pointers on 23 attempts in this one. The most since their Cayman Islands Classic game against Nebraska.

Mason also held a 27-8 edge in bench scoring over Fordham, which included six big points from Jason Douglas-Stanley (2-4 3pt FG).
Jamal Hartwell II was injured in the first half and did not return, add that to the mountain of injuries this team has endured this season.
Javon Greene led the team tonight with 19 points, going 6-10 from the field, 5-7 from three, and recorded 2 rebounds. He also recorded 4 assists and 2 steals. Greene continues to impress, I don’t know why he’s coming off the bench though. Mason will need him to continue to step up if they want to even make it to Thursday, let a lone Friday.

Jordan Miller was close behind, he recorded 17 points in this one, going 6-10 from the field, 1-3 from three, and 4 helpers. He’s played well these last couple games, keep it going into NY.
Anyway.
George Mason takes on St. Joe’s in Brooklyn on Wednesday.
See you then.
