Today is the final game of the A-10 regular season, George Mason (15-15, 4-13) heads to the Bronx to take on Fordham (9-21, 2-15).
This game marks the 11th meeting between the two programs, with the Rams leading the series 7-3. Even though it may seem heavily in Fordham’s favor, Mason has pulled out wins in 3 of the last 4 matchups. However, Mason has yet to win the Bronx (0-3 in program history).
Fordham has currently lost 10 of their last 11 games, with their most recent win coming against George Washington (The one that swept us this season). George Mason, on the other hand, is coming off a three-game losing streak and hopes to finish 11th in the conference.
Breaking Down Fordham
One player to keep an eye on is freshman forward Joel Soriano. He is averaging 9.9 ppg and 11.4 rpg over the past nine games and has recorded double-doubles in each of the past four games.
Junior guard Josh Colon has scored in double figures in four of the last five games, including a season-high 17 points in each of the last two games.
Fordham leads the A-10 in points allowed with 61.9 ppg, furthermore Fordham’s opponents have shot .401 (616-1536) from the field, which somehow also leads the A-10.
Fordham is also 13th in the NCAA in scoring defense. Huh? How?
Fordham also can shoot the three, let’s hope the Patriots can defend and adjust.

Meanwhile Mason cannot let this last regular season game go to waste.
Mason currently sits 12th in the conference meaning they would play the 13th seed, which is currently Fordham.
If Mason beats Fordham and La Salle were to lose to St. Joe’s then Mason would be the 11th seed, and play the 14th seed, which would be St. Joe’s.
If Mason loses and La Salle wins, then Mason would remain 12th in the conference and play Fordham.
If Mason loses and La Salle loses, the above situation would apply.
Jordan Miller led Mason in scoring for the second straight game, dropping in 13 points and five rebounds (4 offensive) against the Billikens
Freshman Josh Oduro is averaging 10.5 points, 2.0 blocks and shooting 64.3 percent (9-14) over the past two games. His play in the post has improved drastically for this season.
My Prediction: A Mason “W”
Please.
