Still in the infancy of conference play, George Mason  (13-6, 2-4) takes on the Davidson Wildcats (9-9, 3-3) in North Carolina.

In the last meeting between these two programs, Davidson came out on top with a 61-56 win in Fairfax. This contest will mark the eighth matchup, with the Wildcats holding a 2-1 series lead at Belk Arena.

Davidson is currently coming off of a win against Saint Louis and has won 3 of their last 4 games. The one loss was against Richmond.

Mason is coming off a 2-4 start in conference play. They have lost 5 of their last 7 games and 2 of the last 4 games.

Breaking Down Davidson

This matchup may look daunting, and that’s because it is. ESPN gives Mason a 16 percent chance of winning this game.

The Wildcats have won 30 of their last 34 at Belk. Ouch.

Hopefully, Mason can get a win on the road.

Some players to look out for:

Kellan Grady, a preseason all-conference selection is leading Davidson in scoring, averaging 15.7 ppg.

Jon Axel Gudmundsson, another preseason all-conference selection is right behind Grady in scoring, averaging 13.3 ppg and averages 6.7 rpg.

Breaking Down George Mason

Greene is averaging a remarkable 35.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.0 steals while shooting 61.5 percent (24-39) over the past two games. It marks the first back-to-back 30-point games by a Patriot since Donald Ross in December 1993.

Wilson leads Mason with 15.0 points/game in road games this season He also averages 7.3 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in games away from EagleBank Arena.

Congrats to Jack Tempchin, he was given a scholarship for the rest of the season.

Prediction: I think this will actually be close, but I think Davidson will come on top, a George Mason “L”.
