On Saturday, George Mason (11-4, 0-2) took on La Salle (10-5, 1-2) in their first A-10 road game of the season.

First off that broadcast was really bad.

Like, look at this score bug at the bottom.

WHY DO I NEED TO KNOW THEIR RECORDS AT ALL TIMES?!?

WHERE ARE THE NUMBER OF FOULS?
WHERE ARE THE NUMBER OF TIMEOUTS?

Stu agreed:

I don’t know about y’all but even with this win I felt as if we didn’t make any progress. These two were neck and neck in the first half. Javon Greene held this team together throughout the first 20 minutes.

This was my reaction:

In the first half, Mason finished scoring 26 points, going 10-24 from the floor, 3-10 from behind the arc and recorded 15 rebounds, 6 assists, and only 6 bench points.

La Salle finished this half scoring 23 points, going 8-24 from the field, 2-9 from three, and recorded 6 steals, 16 rebounds, and 23 bench points.

The Patriots then went on a 20-0 run spanning the two halves to take control of the game. I don’t know if I can attribute this to Mason being better or La Salle being really… really bad. I think its a mixture of both.

Mason finished the second half scoring 50 points, going 15-28 from the floor, 5-11 from behind the arc, and recorded 18 rebounds, 5 assists, and again only 6 bench points.

La Salle scored 40 points, going 13-36 from the field, 6-12 from three, and recorded 23 rebounds, 9 assists, 6 turnovers, and 23 bench points.

GEORGE MASON WINS 76-63 OVER LA SALLE

Some things from this one:

Our depth is not scoring well. Four players (Kier, Wilson, Greene, Miller) consisted of 63 of the 76 points. La Salle destroyed Mason in that respect 46-12 in bench points. Like wow.

Jordan Miller played okay in this one against the Explorers. He finished with 13 points and was 5-10 from the floor, 2-4 from three, 1-2 for free throws, and recorded only 3 rebounds (1 Off, 2 Def). Miller needs to step in the rebounding department, there’s no reason why he should have less than 7 or so rebounds per game.

Javon Greene played great in this one, scoring 16 points. He finished the game going 4-7 from the field, 3-5 from behind the arc, and dished out 3 assists. Greene also finished with the second-most rebounds on the team, seven.

Justin Kier also had a great game; he finished this one with 18 points, going 6-12 from the floor, 2-5 from three, and was 4-5 from the free-throw line. He also finished the game with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block.

This was a “bounce-back” game for the Patriots, hopefully, they can keep it up and get a win against GW in Foggy Bottom.

Anyway.

See you on Wednesday.
