Mason Wins in Kier’s Return, Loses Calixte in Cayman Islands Opener

On Monday, Mason (6-1) defeated Old Dominion (3-3) in the opening round of the Cayman Islands Classic.

Right off the bat, two major headlines from this game:

Justin Kier Returns

The heart and soul of this team, Justin Kier returned in limited action, but he’s back. Justin saw just 4 minutes, had 2 rebounds and 1 turnover and did not attempt a shot.

Greg Calixte Out With Toe Injury

Greg Calixte played just 12 minutes before exiting the game with an injury…

George Mason Defeats Old Dominion 60-53 in the Cayman Islands Classic

The Patriots out-scored ODU 33-24 in the second half, and overcame a 41-36 deficit with 10:57 left in regulation to advance semifinals of the Cayman Islands Classic.

Javon Greene led Mason with 19 points on 5/10 shooting while AJ Wilson had 18 points 9 rebounds. Jordan Miller also had a nice bounce-back game with 7 points and 9 rebounds.
