All eyes on Mason, can we take advantage of this opportunity?

No, the answer is no.
On Friday, George Mason played St. Bonaventure in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament.
In the first half, Mason held the Bonnie’s scoreless for the first 5 minutes, but it did not last long as SBU went a 17-4 run to pull ahead. The Bonnie’s did not let up after that run as they scored 2 treys in the next minute.
Mason finished this half with 24 points, going 9-26 from the floor, 4-17 from behind the arc, and recording 18 rebounds, 8 assists, and 8 turnovers. Not good.
SBU finished this half scoring 34 points, going 13-27 from the field, 6-15 from three (this really hurt), and recorded 15 rebounds, 10 assists, and only 4 turnovers.
Mason’s 3-point defense was lackluster in this half. When playing a Bonnies team that is hot from behind the arc, this is never a good thing.
How Loften is able to square up and take open 3s is beyond me

In the second half, the Patriots finished the half scoring 33 points, going 12-34 from the field, 4-11 from three, and recorded 25 rebounds, 12 personal fouls, and surprisingly only 2 turnovers.
The Bonnies finished this half scoring 34 points, going 9-27 from the floor, 4-9 from behind the arc, and recording 19 rebounds, 7 assists, 6 blocks, and only 3 turnovers.

Some things from this one:
First off, just terrible referring. That’s all I will say on that.
Holy smokes, what an awful officiating crew at the A-10 tourney. Did they borrow from #CAAHoops?

Justin Kier led this team with 20 points. If the Patriots wanted to come out of this game on top, Kier shouldn’t have to carry the team all by himself.
Justin Kier has 14 of Mason’s 15 points this half. He’s a one-man tow truck keeping Mason in this.

Mason missed more layups (20) than they made in Brooklyn (17). That’s just bad. Like really baddddd.
Mason was given a gift with Rhode Island’s win today, and they wasted it. The path to the Finals were going a lot easier, and the Patriots come out and give this type of effort.
Now that the season is over I’m kind of mad Mason didn’t start Jordan Miller at the beginning of the season. He would have had an amazing freshman year.
Congrats to Otis on such an amazing career here at Mason, it’s too bad I was only here to see half of it.
Thank you Otis ✊🏼

Otis Livingston II is a Mason legend. Sad to see a tremendous career come to an end. Love that he’ll always be a Patriot. #Thankful4OL2
