In the second installment of the Revolutionary Rivalry, George Mason (16-14, 10-7) will take on George Washington (8-22, 4-13) to decide their final seeding for the Atlantic 10 tournament.
This contest will mark the 24th meeting between the Patriots and the Colonials, with GW having a resounding 14-0 lead on their home court.
The last time the Patriots played the Colonials was in Fairfax, and they defeated GW by a score of 62-55. Currently sitting on their 10-7 record, Mason is now waiting for their fate in the A10 seeding table. They could land anywhere between the 5th and 7th seeds.
Now let’s break down these two teams as I sit at 2:00am in my bed writing this preview.
Breaking Down GW
After falling to Fordham 67-58, GW is also waiting on where they will stand in the rankings. They could finish anywhere between 12th and 14th.
Differing from the Patriots situation, the Colonials would only finish dead last if they lose to Mason and UMass and Fordham both win.
Sophomore standout Maceo Jack is a player to keep an eye out for; he’s averaged 13.5 points (second for GW) and has reached double figures in scoring in 17 of the last 21 games.
GW’s main scorer, DJ Williams, continues to lead their squad in scoring with 14.2 ppg, but has tailed off scored recently, only scoring in single-figures in the last three games. The Patriots need to make sure to contain Williams, they don’t want him to take control of this game.
Like I mentioned above, GW CONTROLS the Smith Center, defeating Mason every single time they have visited there. We’ll have to see if something different happens the 15th time around.
Breaking Down George Mason
Ok.
Otis did not deserve that.
That was probably one of the worst games of this program’s history and for it to happen for Otis’ last home game of the season, is just sad. He definitely deserved better for his last home game.

Jordan Miller was sorta a silver-lining, he recorded his third double-double of his career with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
There was literally nothing else to take from that game. The Patriots scored the fewest amount of points since 2001.

We just need to move and turn our attention towards this game today and towards the tournament. That’s it.
