George Mason chops the Colonials, moves to 7-1 to stay on top of the A10

On Saturday, George Mason (13-8, 7-1) took on George Washington (6-14, 2-5) in the 23rd contest of the #RevolutionaryRivalry.

In the first half, Mason outscored GW 27-25 going 11-29 from the field, 4-12 from behind the arc, had only 4 turnovers, and recorded 20 rebounds.

GW, on the other hand, went 8-29 from the field, 3-15 on 3’s, recorded 21 rebounds but failed to make it to the charity stripe through the entire half.

The Patriots played some great defense through the game and only recorded 3 fouls in the first half.

In the second half, the Patriots added onto their lead going 12-26 for FG’s, shooting almost 50 percent, resulting in 35 points. Additionally, Mason recorded 15 rebounds and 5 turnovers.  

The Colonials stayed with the Patriots for a while scoring 30 points, going 10-25 for FG’s, 3-13 on 3’s, and 19 rebounds. They also recorded 13 turnovers in the second half.

GEORGE MASON WINS 62-55 OVER GEORGE WASHINGTON

Some Notable Stats:

Otis Livingston II led the team tonight with 15 points, going 5-15 from the field, 2-6 from three, and 3 had three turnovers.

Justin Kier helped with 11 points of his own,  going 4-10 from the field, 0-2 from three, and recorded 11 rebounds. While this was not one of his best games in the last stretch, he recorded his 7th double-double in the last 11 games.

The Green Machine really showed up in this game, possibly the best I have ever heard them. However, it was the student section next to them that made it even better. Check this out.

Jarred Reuter had probably one of his best nights on Saturday recording 10 points, going 5-11 from the field and grabbing 6 rebounds. He even dished out four of these:
