On Sunday, George Mason (8-7, 2-0 A10) hosted St. Bonaventure (4-10, 0-1 A10) in Fairfax for their second conference game.
In the first half, Mason outscored the Bonnies 28-25 going 11-29 from the field, a miserable 1-12 from behind the arc, and recorded 24 rebounds. That one three-pointer? It was a buzzer beater from Ian Boyd. Check it out.

St. Bonaventure lead for the entire first half up until Boyd hit that three. They recorded 25 points going 12-31 from the field, 1-11 from three, and recorded 15 rebounds.
There was very sloppy play from both teams through the first half.
In the second half, the Patriots scored 40 points going 12-23 for FGs, shooting over 50 percent, and going 6-9 from three. Additionally, Mason recorded 20 rebounds and 7 turnovers.
The Bonnies were fighting the Patriots back and forth with point-runs. They went 11-28 from the field, 4-9 from behind the arc, recording only 28 points. St. Bonaventure also registered only 9 rebounds and 4 turnovers.

Some notable things from this game:
This is the first time since joining the Atlantic 10 that Mason has started 2-0 in conference play. Wish it wouldn’t have taken so long, but good job regardless.
Justin Kier led the way with 15 points for his 4th double-double in the last 6 games. He registered 14 rebounds, but also led the team in turnovers with 5.
Mason showed great discipline tonight, they only had 10 fouls, and only allowed the Bonnies to get to the foul line once in the first half and only twice in the second half.
Goanar Mar is still struggling to get in his groove. He only had 2 points tonight going 1-5 from the field and 0-3 from behind the arc.
Otis Livingston II recorded 13 points in this contest to take 4th place on the all-time scoring list. He went 5-11 from the field, 3-8 from three, and also registered 2 rebounds. Tyler had the details.
Another step for Otis Livingston II (13 pts vs. St. Bona) as he continues his ascent on the @MasonMBB scoring list. Moving into 4th place with 1,647 points, he passes Robert Dykes. #MasonRecords

The points were pretty spread out tonight which is great, keep it up.
Question of the game: How does Mason prepare themselves for Davidson on Wednesday? The performance we saw tonight would not have beaten Davidson. What can we do to improve?
Let me know what you think in the comments below!
Anyway.
The Patriots next game is at home this Wednesday against the reigning Davidson Wildcats.
See you then.
