On Saturday, the Patriots took on the Baylor Bears in their final game of the Emerald Coast Classic.

Through the first 20 minutes, the win seemed close, but the Bears took control of the game in the second half and outplayed Mason.

As Leonard Pumphrey said,

In the first half, Baylor outscored the Patriots 28-27 going 10-30 from the field, 2-14 from behind the arc, and recorded 21 rebounds.

Mason shot 8-24 on FG’s, 1-6 on 3’s, and recorded 16 rebounds. The Patriots can’t be shooting 33% and hope to contend with any team, let alone Power-Five opponents.

In the second half, the Bears went 11-24 for FG’s and 4-12 on 3’s, scoring 44 points.

The Patriots scored 34 points going 10-25 for FG’s, 1-8 on 3’s, and 13-18 on FT’s. They also recorded 6 turnovers in the second half.

MASON LOSES TO BAYLOR 72-61

Some notable things from this game:

Mason played just like how the live stream worked tonight. It worked for the first half then stopped at the beginning of the second. By “worked”, I mean the video looking like it was being shot on a potato and was one-dimensional with only one angle.

Otis Livingston II lead the way with 26 points going 8-18 from the field, 2-7 from three, and 8-9 from the stripe. This is the type of night he needs to be having more often. Here a clip of one of the threes:

Jarred Reuter had a solid night registering 15 points. Oddly enough, eleven of those points came from behind the charity stripe. He had a great pass in the second half, I would love to see more of those. Check it out:

No other Patriot recorded more than 6 points in this contest. Justin Kier was the only one to score 6 points, with Javon Greene, Ian Boyd, and Greg Calixte pitching in four points each.

Jaire Grayer failed to convert on any field goal (0-4) only scoring two points on free throws.

Dave Paulsen is still trying lineup rotations. This has gotten to the point where DP is just throwing everything at a wall to see what sticks but doesn’t seem to realize which players are sticking.

A live look at DP from Florida:

As most would say they’re unhappy with the performance of the Patriots so far, Ryan Kish said it best.

Mason plays Morgan State on Wednesday at EBA.

See you then.
