Logan Samuels is a relative unknown to the George Mason family.  The 6-1 point guard out of Bowie, Maryland is transferring to the Patriots as a redshirt senior walk-on due to Division one transfer rules (according to sources). Before coming to George Mason, Samuels played with the Hampden-Sydney Tigers in Southern Virginia.

Samuels may not like Childish Gambino, but he is a Freak on the hardwood and a Geek in the classroom. Before transferring over to George Mason, he majored in Physics with a minor in Computer Science. Samuels chose to play for the Tigers because, “Hampden-Sydney gave me the best opportunity to play basketball at a high level and get a high quality education.”

We talked about Samuel’s Geek attribute; now let’s talk about the Freak. If you check out Logan Samuels twitter, @HugossBoss,(big Kobe fan, follow him) you’ll find his sophomore year highlight tape. This kid can ball.

The highlights show that Samuels has range to shoot from anywhere on the court and the strength to drive to finish strong. The floor looks open as he made multiple passes that lead to open buckets for his teammates. Samuels dribble, drive, and dish will help his transition from wearing the Tigers Garnet and Gray to embracing the Patriots Green and Gold. I am pumped to watch him play for our Patriots.
