The Metro’s Orange Line connects the two A-10 rivals with stops at Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and Foggy Bottom-GWU. This initially led to students to refer to the rivalry as ‘The Battle of the Orange Line’. The move to the A-10 led to the rebranding of the rivalry to the “Revolutionary Rivalry” (a nod to the founding fathers namesakes), but the orange line’s connection to the rivalry (comedic drum roll) is still strong.
Students, as part of the pre-game pre-game festivities, created “The Orange Line”, a simple cocktail made for small budgets. Originally, the cocktail was made with bottom shelf vodkas, but sometimes you find textbooks online, have some extra money left over and can buy a nice bottle.
The trip to GW is roughly 25 minutes, but making The Orange Line doesn’t take nearly as long to make. The Orange Line is simple, refreshing, easy to make and tastes like a melted Orange Creamsicle with bubbles. It’s delicious!
